Welcome to María Belén - New Project Manager for Nepal

My name is María Belén Zambrano and I am the new Nepal Project Officer for the ONGD-FNEL. I come from Ecuador and arrived in Luxembourg with my family on a beautiful summer's day in 1999. I have always been interested in the dynamics of social work and development, which led me to work in the NGO sector.

Before starting with ONGD-FNEL, I worked for various NGOs in Luxembourg such as SOS Faim, Humanity & Inclusion and ADA. During my last position, I was in charge of SOS Faim's partnerships in Mali and Ethiopia, monitoring partners' activities on the promotion of agroecology, the defence of land rights and women's empowerment. While working at Humanity & Inclusion, I monitored several projects in Africa, Asia and South America promoting vocational training and integration into the labour market for people with disabilities. I also had the opportunity to take part in Luxdev's Junior Technical Assistant (JTA) programme in Cape Verde for two years and discover the world of bilateral cooperation.

As I settle into my new role, I'm looking forward to working with local partners and discovering Nepal. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!
