Access to quality education for all, which is the fourth United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), is not yet a reality for many children and young people in Nepal.

Net enrollment rates in primary education have increased from 64 to 95 per cent, with near-parity between the sexes. However, the quality of education remains low, as are the completion rates of secondary education.

We have therefore decided to support projects that enable children and young people in precarious situations to receive quality primary and secondary education:

• Reintegration and scholarships for children of detainees that are illegally in prison with HRASC – Project 004
• Support for families that are affected by HIV with the help of livelihood trainings and scholarships with SETU Nepal – Project 006
• Support for the reintegration and education support of young people and community development in rural areas with Umbrella Nepal – Project 014
• Support and monitoring of children and youths, whose parents are in prison with Prisoners Assistance Nepal – Project 017
